QUALITY

To have a fine product you must first have the best ingredients. w.kleinberg selects and uses only first grade skins, which are selected solely with belt production in mind. In addition, there are unique qualities and idiosyncrasies of all exotic leathers. Our trained artisans understand each skins nuance, from the complexity of American alligator to the ruggedness of ostrich leg and the techniques important to each.

The American alligator, our signature leather, is harvested in the southeast and then tanned and glazed in European tanneries. And, although we offer a unique “one piece” construction in alligator, most exotic skins require piecing where meticulous cutting and matching is required to have a continuous and natural look. These skins must be handled with great delicacy through the stripping, skiving and sewing processes and often requires re-glazing and polishing upon completion. Years of apprenticeship and training are a necessity for such subtle manipulations of these materials.

These luxurious tops are backed with a cowhide lining, which is quite firm in the beginning but then contours with wear much like a fine shoe. For a more supple hand, a sueded nubuk backing can be substituted.

Though all our belts have snaps for versatility, they are hidden to provide a clean
appearance. We also provide two keepers with the easy elimination of one as a choice.

The finishing touches are probably the most critical. For this reason, in most cases, our belts are sewn. Though optional and predominately an aesthetic choice, stitching will enhance the belts longevity. Besides splicing, burnishing the edge is the most labor-intensive process. From both hand and machine we give you a smooth surface for touch, look and durability.
